Forthcoming Legislation

  • The introduction of shared parental leave and pay in 2015 with the Children and Families Bill. Consultation is expected to end on this over the coming months so more details should be available soon. More updates will follow as and when appropriate!
  • Possible changes to the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Bill which could change the law on whistleblowing and associated protection for employees from bullying and harassment.
  • A consultation was announced in the budget for consideration as to whether some health related benefits should be tax exempt – nothing has been decided as yet.
  • 2015 may see a new childcare voucher scheme for working parents
  • Further extensions to unpaid parental leave are proposed for 2014 / 2015 when the right is likely to be extended to parents of children under 18 (currently those under 5 unless the child is entitled to disability living allowance)
