The government has made some amendments to the legislation surrounding employment contracts and with effect from 6th April 2020, has increased the amount of compulsory items that must be included in your terms and conditions of employment. The Employment Rights (Employment Particulars and Paid Annual Leave) (Amendment) Regulations 2018 additionally states that employment contracts must be issued by day one of employment (not within the first 2 months as is currently the case).
