Employment Law Changes – Neonatal Care

A new piece of legislation, the Neonatal Care (Leave and Pay) Act 2023 came into force on 6th April 2025 and introduces two new rights – neonatal care leave and neonatal car pay.  This is a ‘day 1’ right meaning there is no qualifying service, and is eligible to parents of babies admitted to neonatal care for at least 7 days (within the first 28 days following birth).  The eligibility criteria for leave and pay are different, so please contact us if you need support on this subject.
