It’s that time of year when there is an annual increase to statutory rates of pay set by the government. With effect from April 2025, Statutory Maternity, Paternity and Adoption pay increases to £187.03 per week, with Statutory Sick Pay increasing to £118.75. The maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal increases to £118,223.00 and the Statutory Cap on a Week’s Pay (used for things like calculating statutory redundancy pay) increases from £700 to £719 per week. There have also been increases to Vento bands which are the guidelines used by tribunals for assessing any compensation in relation to “injury to feelings” in discrimination claims.
